Make these incredibly easy baked ham and cheese croissants. They use store-bought crescent roll dough for a flaky, buttery pastry filled with savory ham and gooey melted cheese. This recipe is perfect for a fast breakfast, satisfying snack, or simple lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese or Gruyère cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional, for an extra kick)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into 8 triangles.
  3. If using Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer on the wide end of each dough triangle.
  4. Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese on the wider end of each dough triangle.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from the wide end to the point, enclosing the filling. Place the rolled croissants seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the croissants lightly with the beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can brush the tops with melted butter before baking.
  • Use your favorite cheese, such as cheddar or provolone, if Swiss is not available.
  • This recipe is a great make-ahead brunch idea; assemble them, cover, and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking.
