You can make these incredibly crispy cinnamon sugar pecans using only five pantry staples. This oven-baked method avoids sticky results, giving you the perfect sweet, crunchy snack for gifting or topping salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, lightly whisk the egg white until it is slightly frothy.
  3. Add the pecan halves to the egg white and toss them until they are lightly coated.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Pour the sugar mixture over the coated pecans. Toss well until every pecan is evenly covered with the spice and sugar mix.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not let them overlap.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring gently every 10 minutes to prevent burning and promote even crisping.
  8. Remove the pecans from the oven when they look dry and lightly browned.
  9. Let the pecans cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crispier as they cool.
  10. Store your crunchy nut recipe in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg white before coating the nuts.
  • If you want a slightly more complex flavor, substitute half of the granulated sugar with packed brown sugar.
  • These sweet roasted nuts are excellent crumbled over green salads or yogurt.
