This easy, creamy olive dip recipe delivers bold, savory Mediterranean flavor. It is a perfect make-ahead appetizer for parties, holidays, or quick snacks when you need entertaining food fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar green olives, drained and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup black olives, drained and finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream into a medium mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  2. Add the chopped green olives, chopped black olives, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, onion powder, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix on low speed or stir by hand until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese base.
  3. Transfer the olive dip mixture to a serving bowl. If desired, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top for added texture.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step allows the flavors to blend and makes the dip easier to serve.
  5. Serve your ultimate olive appetizer cold with pita chips, crackers, fresh vegetables, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

  • For a make-ahead dip, prepare the mixture up to 2 days in advance. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • This dip pairs well with a variety of serving items, including sturdy crackers, celery sticks, or cucumber rounds for a low-carb option.
  • If you want a tangier flavor, add 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice to the mixture before chilling.
