Make this simple, light, and hydrating watermelon smoothie. It is perfect for a quick breakfast or a cool-down drink on a hot day, ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh, cubed watermelon (chilled or frozen for best texture)
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries (optional, for flavor variation)
  • 1/2 medium banana (frozen, optional, for creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup water or unsweetened almond milk (adjust for desired thickness)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed watermelon, frozen strawberries (if using), banana (if using), lime juice, and liquid into your blender.
  2. Secure the lid and start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to high speed.
  3. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. Taste the smoothie. If you prefer it sweeter, add the optional honey or maple syrup and blend briefly to combine.
  5. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more water or milk. If it is too thin, add a few more pieces of frozen fruit or ice cubes and blend again.
  6. Pour the refreshing summer drink immediately into glasses and serve.

Notes

  • For the creamiest smoothie texture, use frozen watermelon chunks instead of fresh.
  • This recipe is naturally low calorie and fits well into weight loss smoothie plans.
  • To make this a vegan watermelon smoothie, ensure you use maple syrup instead of honey, if sweetening.
  • This recipe is a simple 4 ingredient smoothie if you omit the optional strawberries and sweetener.
